When was the MP5 first put into use? I never had the time to look up the details of the manufacturer or country of origin. Was it the Navy Seals who relied on it so heavily? Thanks for your answers.

The H&K MP5 is one of the best sub-machine guns out there. It uses a 9mm round (pistol round). It's been in service since 1966. It was made in the early 1960's in Germany from what I remember. I'm honestly not sure if the Navy Seals use heavily or not.
